Matt began collecting political memorabilia at a young age as his father was active in state and national politics.  His father would typically come home with political buttons from various dinners, conventions, and meetings, and would give them to Matt.  Over the years, he has amassed a collection of over 5,000 presidential pins as well as countless local, state, and national candidate pins.  Additionally, he has collected over 60 years of presidential campaign posters and received more than 50 years’ worth of Christmas cards from various chief executives.

Matthew continues to collect multi-partisan pins and regularly visits political conventions, emphasizing the significance of memorabilia and nostalgia. His outstanding collection is respected throughout the country.

Matt has given his children the bulk of his collection so they may enjoy it and learn fascinating details about American political history. He is a member of the American Political Items Collectors (APIC), a non-profit organization that promotes education about political memorabilia and its place in history. APIC is also at the forefront of combating forgeries and fakes in the political items field.
